After 14 years of school, exams, sleepless nights, and marathon surgeries, I’ve finally finished my last year of training. My path wasn’t exactly a straight line. At UBC, life was fun. VP of my fraternity, DJ’ing on the side, living the college life. But deep down, I wanted something more. I gave up music, leaned into my love for science, and went all in on medicine. It wasn’t smooth. I did… okay at UBC. Some doors closed. But failure has a funny way of forcing you to level up. I took a post-bacc in Toronto, learned how to actually study, and clawed my way into medical school at Ross University. Those years were humbling. I buried myself in textbooks, graduated with highest honors, and crushed my board exams. That opened the door to surgery and taught me that hard work beats talent every time. Dr. Ang gave me a shot at UCF’s surgery residency. Five years of 80-hour weeks, four days off a month, sometimes 32-hour calls… it pushed me to my limits, but also showed me how small daily improvements turn you from someone who can barely tie a stitch… into a full-fledged surgeon. I was lucky to train under the guidance of Dr. Nijher and Dr. Rogers at Ocala Plastic Surgery and my interest for the field grew. It’s technical, precise, artistic, and gives the gift of confidence and self esteem. As someone who puts family first, I also saw a path to be both a surgeon and present for my wife and daughter. After residency, I was fortunate to train under Dr. Jacob Haiavy and Dr. Irene Tower in one of the most prestigious fellowships in the country. After an intense year of hands-on training, I am officially a fellowship-trained cosmetic surgeon. Thank you to my family, friends, and colleagues who were there along the way and made this possible, I will always appreciate it. And now… the next chapter begins. I’m proud and excited to share that I’ll be joining a private practice in Las Vegas this August!! Let’s do this
